After the first couple of weeks of the season, the points are rolling in for the FB Agents for all their bigfield teams. Like previous seasons the club has 3 teams playing bigfield competition, a first division men’s team, a second division men’s team and our ladies’ team which plays second division in the ladies competition.

For the men the first team have had an exceptionally great start this season, which they had to start off against the national champions of last season. A hard match, but with dedication and team play the Agents managed to turn it into the first three points of the season. The Agents team had control of the game for the greater part and managed to get a 5-0 lead, but due to some loss of focus in the end HDM managed to get in 2 goals as well, resulting in a 5-2 win.

Their second match was against a new team in the first division, newly promoted as champions of the second division last year, Tilburg. Tilburg was overrun with a monster score of 17-3. The fact that the opponent had no changes and had to start this match with the minimum amount of players, on top of the fact that they just started playing in the first league this season, made it an impossible task for them to fight off the Agents.

Being on a winning streak, the team was then up against a well known opponent from last season, UFC Utrecht 1. The team from Amsterdam was in shape and on a roll and they showed it this match, overwhelming the opponents with an 11-0 win. So far the FBA 1 team hasn’t lost any points, keep it up guys! J

The second men’s team, consisting of a lot of new faces and players, have to proof their worth in the second division this year. Their first match being against a team full of experienced long-time players proved to be a tricky one. The team from Amsterdam fought hard and managed to play extremely well during some small moments in the match, but sadly they couldn’t keep it up and returned to chaos a lot of times as well. Chaos which the opponent, UFC Utrecht 4, put to good use to move the pressure from their side to ours. The match was tense until the end and the final score was a 4-4 tie. Sadly no 3 points for Amsterdam, but not a loss either.

Knowing they could play better than last match, the team from Amsterdam had to face the young guys from Amersfoort, Sonics 3, in their second match. The goal was simple: trying to keep control of the game and return to Amsterdam with 3 points. Controlling the game worked wonderfully well with lots of nice and easy passing around, keeping the pressure on the opponents instead of us. After 1,5min we opened the score with an amazing shot from a distance, followed quickly by more amazing goals, resulting in a 5-0 lead after the first period. The second and third period were a lot more tense with Sonics increasing the pressure on us, but our defence worked well and after the 3 periods the scoreboard showed a nice 10-1 win for the team from Amsterdam! Well done guys and keep the focus! J



With both the men teams doing great, the ladies couldn’t stay behind. The ladies had to start against an old-time favourite from Enschede, Messed Up. After Messed Up just proved their worth in the cup matches against two first division teams (they tied against the champions of last season, 0-0), they showed the ladies from Amsterdam they were in good shape. The green team proved a hard nut to crack, which resulted in only 1 goal during the first period for the Agents. No safe lead yet, the Agents had to push on during the second and third period. It got more tense when the ladies thought to have a nice 3-0 head start in the second period, which was then followed by two quick goals of Messed Up resulting in a 3-2. Luckily the Agents proofed their worth during the third and last period and the game ended in a 7-2 win!

For their second match of the season, the Amsterdam Ladies were up against the second team of Utrecht, UFC Utrecht 2. Due to weather and traffic problems, getting to the location and preparing for the match was a bit chaotic, but the ladies were determined not to lose this one after such a great start. It was Utrecht however who opened the score with a quick goal after 1,5min. Of course a real Agent isn’t shocked by just one goal and the ladies answered with two late goals in the first period. During the last period, still with only a 2-1 lead, the ladies from Amsterdam changed their tactics a bit from nice and controlling to aggressive and pressuring tactics. With some nice pressure on the defence of Utrecht they created some wonderful chances and this resulted in a 4-1 win.

The third game of the ladies team was against the team from Nijmegen, Hot Shots 2. It was good opponent and the Amsterdam team had to do without quite a few of their players. Having only one change in the team they had to play this one carefully, not to get too tired before the end and give it away during the last minutes. Luckily the first two goals were for Amsterdam, which gave the ladies a little time to breath. The girls from Nijmegen used that moment for a nice goals as well, putting the pressure back on the Amsterdam team. After some terrifying moments, during the third period, the Agents decided to give it all they got and they managed to score some incredibly nice goals despite their tiredness. The final result was a nice 6-1 win for the FB Agents! Way to go ladies, keep the points rolling in! J
