The Champions!!

Saturday 6th of May FB Agents played their last league game against Hooked from Maastricht. Previously FBA had beaten previous champions HSK on their home field in Den Haag 4-1 with a fantastic performance. This game turned out to be the championship decider and only a win in the Hooked game would have been enough to guarantee the title.

Game started with a worst possible play FBA had played in this season. Within 10 minutes Agents were down 0-2. It was time to make some changes and as always Agents were again fast enough to make important tactical changes during the game and by the end of the period FBA were in the 2-2 situation.

From second period on there were no question about the the better team. FBA machine started to work in its full length and Hooked were tied to be the statisticians of the game.

Hooked still created few dangerous situations, including one penalty shot, but FBA and again fantastically played goalie agent Palmgren did their duties with the best. Eventually end result 11-3 proved who was the best team on the field and in the league; Agents were the Dutch champions for the first time in the history!!


Kampioen!

For the second year of Dutch league Floorball, this is a very exceptional result for the FB Agents, last year 2nd and this year 1st. Floorball Club Amsterdam Agents will continue to grow and create winners of the future. Next stop is the demanding European Cup Qualifications in Denmark, we will stay tuned and see what kind of results Agents can bring from the European fields. Until then long live the Champions!!!

The guys in the Hague were quaking in their boots. Could it be that the championship would go to the little Amsterdam team? And the worst thing was that it was out of their hands....

The agents just needed to win to see their name on the trophy and to bring it back to it's rightful place.

The stage seemed set; The sun was shining, the birds were singing and captain Michel's car was working for a change. Amsterdam Noord looked beautiful, serene,placid ; a wonderful setting for what was about to come. Only spoiled by the distinct smell of horse crap floating on the wind....

The brave warriors arrived at the sport hall, bags and sticks in hand, with the weight of expectency on their shoulders. The crowds started to trickle through the doors, with the hope that HSK Den Haag would finally be toppled from their throne. Would Amsterdam stick to the game plan and win? The party was already booked, the invitations had already gone out. Now it was time for the guys from the agents team to fulfill their part of the bargain.

10 minutes in and the agents were losing 2-0. Could it be slipping away from them? Could it have been another chance missed....

No way. The guys picked themselves up from the floor and started to play. This was not going to slip out of their hands! After equalising, the game was never in any question.

The agents went from strength to strength. Hooked of Maastricht had no chance against these men on a mission.

You could almost hear the cries from the Hague as the final whistle blew and the FB agents knew that their name was about to go down in the history books, or at least would find itself on a €5 trophy from Blokker.
