We’ve been practicing zone defense quite a lot over the last trainings, and we were determined to form a solid block and to not let any balls through. Unfortunately, although we did show a very good piece of defending work, and despite Cynthia’s superb goal keeping skills, Sonics managed to force their way through and score four goals anyway.

In the second period we decided to take more risks and push up a bit further; and this strategy paid off, as we immediately created some chances, and managed to keep Sonics away from our goal for longer. However, Sonics were clearly the better team, which led to an eventual score of 9-0.

Still, I think we showed that we can work well together as a team in our defense and I believe that if we can be just a bit more confident and more dynamic on the field, we can only grow in this year’s Competition.
